About your teacher

Edward Rose is a qualified Shaw Method teacher with ASA level 1 and 2 swim teaching qualifications as well as level 2 open water swim coaching.

Edward has been a swimmer for most of his life. His mother was determined he would learn to swim because she never had the opportunity herself. From the age of two, Edward began a journey that has led to a lifelong love of all things water-related. Learning to be a strong swimmer has provided Edward with the opportunity to live a healthy life. He was a competitive club swimmer as a child. It has also opened the door to other amazing watersports such as kayaking, scuba diving and kite surfing.  He likes nothing better that spending his spare time swimming alongside some of the most amazing marine life in the world and being outside enjoying the natural world.

Edward is a qualified rescue diver, dive master and has a degree in Biological Sciences and a postgraduate science PGCE (teaching qualification). As a teacher, he is able to bring his vast swimming knowledge and experience to his students and also patience and a desire to encourage others. He feels that building confidence in the water is the key to becoming a successful swimmer.

In 2012, Edward completed his first London Marathon. He used swimming to really push his fitness levels higher, as it is a non-impact activity. It is also perfect for helping to overcome running related injuries. In 2015, he ran the Las Vegas marathon for charity. He turned to the pool once again for that extra fitness level required.

Being a successful swimmer is not only a great life skill that saves lives, but opens the door to a whole new world to be explored.
